Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

What we collect

  • IP address — auto-detected on visit. Used to identify your pins, prevent spam, and enforce bans. Never displayed publicly.
  • Email — optional, collected when you drop a pin or seeker request. Used only for matching notifications. Never shown on the map, never sold.
  • Phone number — optional. Same handling as email — shared only in match emails, never shown publicly.
  • Location — the coordinates you place on the map. Rounded to ~100m in API responses.
  • Rent details — BHK, rent amount, furnishing, notes, preferences. Displayed publicly (except email & phone).

How matching shares your contact

When you drop a seeker pin or list a flat with your contact details, our matching system periodically compares pins within a 2 km radius that are compatible on budget, BHK, and preferences. When a match is found, both sides receive a single email containing each other's contact. This is the only way the matching feature can work. Contact is never displayed on the map — only in match emails. If you don't want your contact shared, don't add it or delete your pin.

Third-party services

  • Google Maps — map tiles and place search. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Supabase — database hosting (AWS). Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
  • Upstash Redis — rate limiting and caching. No personal data stored.

Data retention

  • Rent pins — kept until you delete them or they receive 3+ reports.
  • Seeker pins — auto-expire after 30 days.
  • Email & phone — kept until you request deletion or your pin is removed.

Your rights

  • Delete your own pins anytime by tapping them on the map.
  • Request deletion of all your data by emailing hi@pin.rent
  • We never sell, trade, or share your personal data with advertisers or brokers.

Security
